Employee Management System with Blazor Server

5 weeks · 6-8 hours per week average · INTERMEDIATE

In this series of liveProjects, you’ll create a farm management web application for Budzykfarm that will track the staff’s schedules and performance. Your task is to implement the main features while also setting up the structure for additional features to be added in the future. Leveraging tools including MudBlazor, Entity Framework (EF) Core, and SQL Server, you’ll lay out the system’s pages and add data input, identity verification, time tracking, and logging functionality to the pages. Then you’ll prepare the application for use in the real world by building a test environment using testing tools xUnit and bUnit, then publish the platform to Azure. When you’re done, you’ll have gained valuable skills for creating a fully functional, real-world Blazor application from start to finish.

Unit Testing and Publishing

1 week · 2-4 hours per week · INTERMEDIATE

It’s go time! The initial implementation of Budzykfarm’s new farm management web application is finished, and the managers are eager to see how it performs in a live scenario. Using testing tools xUnit and bUnit, you’ll set up the test environment. Then, you’ll use Azure to publish a live version of your database, as well as the fully functional, test-ready website.

Real-Time Tracking

1 week · 4-6 hours per week · INTERMEDIATE

Give Budzykfarm’s managers a view of pertinent data in their new farm management web application. Using MudBlazor and Entity Framework (EF) Core, you’ll create two new pages: one for live work logs and one for historic work logs. To accomplish this, you’ll build template database tables, then add functionality for retrieving and displaying the data.

Time Logging and User Access

1 week · 4-6 hours per week · INTERMEDIATE

Help Budzykfarm’s workers get to work: Using Blazor, MudBlazor, EF Core, and SQL Server, you’ll set up worker identity verification and gather the information that the other features will rely on. Then, you’ll create the initial log records that will keep a running history and enable workers to retrieve their assignments and close the work view so the system is ready for the next worker as well as the next workday.

Entity Framework Core

1 week · 8-10 hours per week · INTERMEDIATE

Budzykfarm’s new farm management system has existing Blazor pages, but they don’t do anything just yet. That’s where you come in. First, you’ll set up a SQL Server database and establish procedures for entering the data on the UI pages using Entity Framework (EF) Core. Then, you’ll bind input to the pages’ MudBlazor components. When you’re done, managers at Budzykfarm will be able to easily enter worker data and assign duties.

Create Pages with MudBlazor

1 week · 8-10 hours per week · INTERMEDIATE

Streamline Budzykfarm’s time management process by eliminating an unnecessary step. Currently, it logs time management data on paper, then enters it later into the accounting system. Your task is to perform the first step for its new farm management web application: Create the web pages that managers and workers will use to enter the necessary data. Using Blazor, you’ll set up this server-side project for development. Then, you’ll lay out the no-frills pages using MudBlazor, ensuring that the pages are easy to use, functional on both computer screens and mobile devices, and ready for future enhancements.

Postman

  • Course duration: 1h 13m

This rapid-fire course will get you up and running with Postman in no time! You’ll start with the basics of send requests, read response, attaching cookies, and more. Once that’s locked in, you’ll learn how to easily share data between different devices. Finally, you’ll learn practical and easy-to-apply Postman techniques that will ease your development process and streamline your front-end development.

Get Started with Blazor

  • Course duration: 3h 1m

Get Started With Blazor is a concise and efficient way to begin using the powerful Blazor framework to create web applications using C# and ASP.NET. You’ll begin with the basics of setup and syntax and then explore more advanced functions such as API calls and web sockets. Best of all, the course is filled with real-world examples and opportunities to put your new skills into practice!

C# Language

  • Course duration: 5h 5m

C# Language helps you get started with C#, guiding you step by step as you create your very first working application. You’ll start by setting up your development environment and then you’ll review C# syntax and data types. You’ll move on to core structural topics like methods, classes, variables, and error handling, with useful exercises to seal in your knowledge. By the time you’re done, you’ll be ready to move on to your choice of web, mobile, or desktop development.

.Net Core API Development

  • Course duration: 2h 26m

.NET Core API Development is a practical liveVideo course for developers new to building REST APIs on .NET core. You’ll progress from the basics through to advanced concepts like security and custom authentication, then you’ll put your new skills into practice by creating your own full-featured API in an interesting real-world example project. You’ll learn to create custom authentication, registration and authorization, as well as data entry and output features, with all concepts explained in clear and accessible language. There’s no unnecessary jargon, and you’ll even learn how to communicate complex technical concepts to other non-technical users and stakeholders.

Build Full-Stack Web Applications using C# and Blazor

  • Course duration: 3h 2m

Build Full-Stack Web Applications using C# and Blazor is a practical guide to modern full stack web development. You’ll learn to build both the front end and back end of web applications using only C# and the Blazor framework. You’ll start with the basics of Blazor and API development with .NET Core, before quickly moving on to advanced topics such as dependency injection and security. You’ll then put your new skills into action by building a Classroom Quiz program, including using an API and client-side Blazor integration.
