How do I download an ebook?
You can browse our catalog and select a book. From that book's page click on the link that adds the book to your cart. Do this as many times as you want for different books and then click on "buy now." After reading our licensing agreement you will be asked to fill in standard billing information. When that's done and your purchase has gone through you will receive an email containing a link valid for 24 hours where you will be able to download the book.
How long do I have to download my ebook?
Manning ebooks may be downloaded for 24 hours after purchase. For ebook downloads after that time, contact support@manning.com.
Manning Early Access Program (MEAP) subscriptions entitle users to download individual chapters as they are written, edited, and released, months before the whole book is published. Chapter downloads are available until the book is completed and all chapters have been released.
At that time, MEAP subscribers will have access to download the completed ebook for a period two weeks, after which access is taken down. For MEAP ebook downloads after that time, contact support@manning.com.
What is Manning’s ebook support policy?
- All support is provided via email on a daily basis on Monday – Friday only.
- Please do not call us. Telephone support is not provided.
- All email messages regarding your order must originate from the email address you used for the purchase. We are not responsible for answering requests from email addresses other than those used in the purchase of an ebook.
- All correspondence with Manning Publications must include your order number in the subject line.
- Direct all email correspondence to support@manning.com.
- We will gladly extend the 24 hour download period if you have been unable to obtain the ebook or for any Manning-related server/service problems.
- We provide each support request with personal attention by one of our webmasters or customer support agents free of charge.
What security restrictions are enabled on the PDF ebooks? Can I print, copy and paste, etc?
There are no restrictions on the PDF ebooks.
For TR ebooks, what security restrictions are enabled? Can I print, copy and paste, etc.?
There are no restrictions on the TR ebooks.

Help! I never received an email directing me to the download page for the Ebook!
Spam filters can accidentally place our emails in your junk mail folder. Please check for our email there. Adding our support@manning.com email address to your address book can help to avoid this from happening. If you still can't find our email, contact us for help.

Can you extend the download period?
Make every effort to download your book within the allotted time. If your web connection timed out or you got disconnected while downloading the Ebook. We will be happy to extend your download period to allow you sufficient time to retrieve your ebook. Contact support@manning.com for assistance. Remember to include your order number in the subject line.
My Ebook file seems to be corrupted... or I get this strange error message when...
In most cases, the problem is due to the web browser not recognizing and using the right transfer method when directly viewing in the browser. Please try to right click on the download link, and select the "Save target as..." (or “Save link as…”, “Download Linked File as…” depending on your browser) option. This will force the browser to use its file download transfer method which is much more reliable. If you have already downloaded a corrupted fragment make sure to delete the corrupted file before downloading a new copy. If this does not solve the problem, please send me your order #, operating system version, and browser version you're using and I'll start troubleshooting.
Finally, some proxy servers/firewalls have been known to interrupt or completely block our ebook downloads. If you are behind a proxy server or firewall and continue to have problems, try to make the download from a directly connected computer (or temporarily disable your proxy/firewall while making the download.
We highly recommend installing all patches for your browser (especially for Microsoft Internet Explorer). Older or buggy versions of browsers are known to contain security flaws that may interfere with proper functioning with the website.
I’m having trouble downloading the source code, can you email it to me?
We're sorry you cannot download our book source code. Unfortunately we cannot email source code to customers so you need to get the web download working. There are three possible reasons your download is being blocked:
1) Your ISPs DNS server is not up to date. If you get a "host not found" error, then just wait a couple minutes and try again. Your ISP should update its DNS server with our server's address and you should get through.
2) You have a firewall or proxy server blocking the download. You'll have to find another network connection to download from or tell the firewall/proxy server administrator to not block the download.
3) You're running an older "broken" version of IE. Upgrade to the latest version and apply all security patches, or try Firefox http://www.mozilla.org
Please note that some of our Chinese customers are having trouble downloading source code. This is an issue with some Chinese ISPs, not ours. Please contact your ISP or try a different internet connection.
